Headshots Photo Shoot | Headshots Oshawa
Normally, I am not a fan of a headshots photo shoot. It’s not that I don’t like the challenge of capturing personality and expression in a small space; it’s just that I find it difficult to be creative and have fun with it. Recently, however, I did a headshots Oshawa session for a client and really enjoyed myself! In this blog post, I want to share why I don’t normally photograph headshots, but just did a session and loved it. Plus, I am thinking about adding headshot sessions to my lineup of services!

There are a few reasons why I don’t normally photograph headshots. First, it can be difficult to be creative and have fun with it. Second, the results can often feel very formulaic and boring. Third, most people who need headshots are looking for something more formal or serious, which is not my usual style.
However, recently I did an informal headshots session for my friend and co-worker who is starting an added career and she wanted some updated photos to use on social media sites like Facebook or LinkedIn. She was looking for something fun and more casual than a typical headshot.
I’m so glad she asked me to help out with this because it was really fun! We laughed and joked the whole time, and I was able to get some really great expressions from her. The final photos turned out amazing and she was thrilled with them.

So why did this session go so well when a headshots photo shoot doesn’t normally? I think it has a lot to do with the fact that we were just hanging out having fun and weren’t under any pressure to get the perfect shot. Also, I think using off-camera lighting really helped with getting great expression from her because it was more natural looking than a flash.

In conclusion, my usual headshots photo shoots are not always successful because they can be difficult to make creative and have fun with; plus most people who need headshots Oshawa are looking for something more formal or serious. However, I recently did a session that went really well and it was because we were just hanging out having fun. So, if you’re looking for an updated, informal headshot, I would definitely recommend giving me a shout to contact me! I may not be the typical headshot photographer, but I promise you won’t be disappointed.
